Dr Ahmed Adekunle
(FNIAE, CF, PRMP)
Dr Ahmed is a technocrat with over thirty-five years of experience in Agricultural Mechanization and Machineries, Financial and Loan Syndication, Commodity Merchandising and Reengineering of Farmers & Co-operative movement and the founder of various agricultural service provision companies e.g. Nigeria Investment Cooperative Agency Limited, Dynamic AgroSol Limited, DSA Consult Limited, BBC Consult Limited and OSS Venture Limited etc. He was the Chairman, Advisory Ministerial Mechanization Committee (AMMC) (2013-2015): overseeing the nationwide implementation of FMARD’s Private Sector Driven Agricultural Mechanization Programme (PSDAMP) and the Senior Adviser to the former Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Dr. Akinwumi Adesina.
He has served as the Regional Consultant for African Union (AU) & Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO); A consultancy Project and advisory engagement to develop a Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization Strategy (SAMS) for Rwanda and East Africa in 2016. Dr. Adekunle also serves as the Senior Technical Adviser on Mechanization (2015-2018) to the current Honourable Minister of Agriculture (HMA), Project Coordinator (2016-2018): in charge of coordinating the interface between HMA’s core team and the FMARD workforce. The CE is a core mechanization player that desires nothing but full commitment to the growth of agricultural mechanization in Nigeria and Africa at large.
His present commitments and responsibilities involve leading a multidisciplinary team focused on ensuring the food security of Nigeria and the larger African continent through the creation of local economies of scale in favor of small holder farmers and other value chain stakeholders. Dr. Adekunle’s burning desire is to optimize smallhoolder performance and increased productivity by empowering the farmers through the provision of Agricultural Tractors within their reach for just a token. He has also successfully replicated the conventional lease program from the corporate world to the farmers through the Public Private Partnership arrangements with Federal Government of Nigeria and other International and national stakeholders in Agriculture.
