With a versatile background spanning farmer, entrepreneur, financing expert, and agricultural sector administrator, Dr. Adekunle embarked on a mission to establish NAMEL, bridging the gap between farmers’ aspirations and their challenges. Infused with a profound understanding of Nigeria’s agricultural landscape and an unwavering commitment to transformation, he envisions a future characterised by modernised, efficient, and sustainable farming practices – a future poised to overcome the challenges of our era.
A Visionary Technocrat
Dr. Ahmed Adekunle is a technocrat with over thirty-five years of experience in Agricultural Mechanization and machinery, Financial and Loan Syndication, Commodity Merchandising, and the revitalisation of farmers and cooperative movements. He is also the visionary founder of several agricultural service provision companies, including Nigeria Investment Cooperative Agency Limited, Dynamic AgroSol Limited, DSA Consult Limited, BBC Consult Limited, and OSS Venture Limited.
Leadership and Impact
Dr. Adekunle’s impact spans numerous influential roles. He chaired the Advisory Ministerial Mechanization Committee (AMMC) from 2013 to 2015, overseeing the nationwide implementation of FMARD’s Private Sector Driven Agricultural Mechanization Programme (PSDAMP). He served as the Senior Adviser to the former Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina. Additionally, he assumed the role of Regional Consultant for the African Union (AU) & Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in a consultancy project to develop a Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization Strategy (SAMS) for Rwanda and East Africa in 2016.
