The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NAMEL and John Deere Tractors Manufacturing Company for the deployment of 10,000 Units of tractors under a special hiring scheme and in addition, to establish Agricultural Equipment Hiring Enterprises (AEHEs) across the 774 Local Government Areas of the country.
This project is targeted at mechanizing 9.450million hectares of land, the country hopes to attain additional 37.8million MT of food production and create additional 150,000 indirect jobs through liberal mechanization activities annually.

NAMEL signs MoU with Mechanization Service providers (TOOAN and TOHFAN) to effectively make mechanized services available, accessible and affordable to Nigerian farmers through a public private partnership; to increase yields per hectare and move closer to attaining national food security. Through this partnership, NAMEL hopes to not only deliver equipment to our farmers but to also build local capacity to operate, maintain and maximize their use.

The Nigerian Agricultural Mechanization & Equipment Leasing Company (NAMEL) is has partnered with Mantrac Nigeria Limited (MNL), the sole authorized dealer of Caterpillar Products in Nigeria to launch an Integrated Nationwide Agricultural Land Development Scheme (INALDS), a private sector initiative of NAMEL.
The program designed to open 500,000 hectares of unused arable land using the appropriate agricultural land development technology while the payment is structured on a flexible deferred system over a period of 1-3 years. The INALD specific target is to open at least 13,000 hectares of land in each state in collaboration with Federal, State, Local Government and Private Sector investors.

NAMEL signs MoU with USAID Feed the Future Nigeria, managed by Cultivating New Frontiers in Agriculture (CNFA).
This partnership is aimed at promoting access to agricultural finance from a variety of traditional and non-traditional financial institutions, create commercially viable business linkages along select agricultural value chains and attract domestic and international investment flows into the agribusiness sector.
