Since its inception, NAMEL has remained dedicated to addressing the needs of farmers, particularly those in rural areas who contribute significantly to Nigeria’s agricultural output and across the African continent. Since 2018, our mission has been clear: to empower African farmers with the tools they need to succeed by fostering sustainable land development, accessible mechanisation, and innovative technology services. As the Nigerian Agricultural Mechanization and Equipment Leasing Company, we aren’t just shaping the future of farming – we’re revolutionising it.

Our journey began with the mission to bridge the gap between the demand for modern, cost-effective, and high-precision agricultural equipment and the accessibility of such equipment for small, medium, and large-scale commercial farmers in Nigeria and the wider Sub-Saharan region. Dr. Ahmed Adekunle, the founder of NAMEL, brought a unique perspective as a farmer, entrepreneur, and financing expert in the agricultural sector.

Our founder, Dr Adekunle’s, experience and role as a Special Senior Assistant (SSA) on Mechanization to five consecutive ministers of Agriculture highlighted the urgent need for a transformative shift in the agricultural sector. This shift would address low productivity caused by the lack of essential agricultural machinery needed for complete mechanisation. It would also align with the requirements of changing climates, growing populations, improved farmer livelihoods, and the broader needs of Africa.
