Project Description
Private Sector Driven Agricultural Mechanization Programme PSDAMP is an innovative initiative designed to enhance collaboration between the public and private sectors, aimed at expanding and deepening the delivery of mechanisation services to farmers, particularly smallholders. By bridging gaps and leveraging combined resources, PSDAMP aims to drive agricultural development and empower local farming communities.
Partnership and Scope
In close collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, we have embarked on a strategic partnership to implement the PSDAMP. This initiative entails deploying 10,000 units of tractors and other essential agricultural equipment over five years. FMAFS contributes 35% of the funding required, reaffirming its commitment to agricultural advancement.
As a crucial player in this endeavour, NAMEL assumes the responsibility of project coordination, ensuring seamless execution and efficient resource allocation. Leveraging our extensive network, expertise, and private sector relationships, we syndicate the remaining 65% of funding from various private sector entities. This strategic collaboration reduces the burden of equipment procurement and financial strain, paving the way for sustainable mechanisation services.
Impact and Value Chain Orientation
The essence of PSDAMP lies in its value chain orientation, encompassing every vital factor and participant within the Agricultural Mechanization Ecosystem. We strengthen the entire value chain by fostering collective action among stakeholders, from equipment provision to service delivery. This collaborative effort empowers farmers, mainly smallholders, with advanced mechanisation tools and techniques.
By fostering this collaboration between the public and private sectors, PSDAMP aims to revolutionise the agricultural landscape, promoting economic growth, food security, and poverty reduction. Through shared responsibility and expertise, we drive transformative change and enhance farmers’ livelihoods nationwide.
